French Top 14 giants Toulon have announced the signing of England lock David Ribbans on a deal that runs until 2026.
He will join former Saints team-mate Dan Biggar, who made the move across the channel earlier this season.
Ribbans said: “I love playing for Saints and living in Northamptonshire, so this was not an easy decision for me to make.
“I’m extremely grateful to the club’s supporters for embracing me as they have in my time here, and to the coaches and support staff for everything they have done to improve me as a player.
“I’ll be sad to leave some great friends and team-mates, but I’ll be giving everything I’ve got to make sure we finish the season as strongly as possible.”
22 England stars won’t be able to play again after the 2023 World Cup
There will be 22 England-eligible players stranded in France’s Top 14 after the 2023 Rugby World Cup, making them unavailable to Steve Borthwick.
