Danny Care, the former England scrum-half, has announced that he’ll remain with Harlequins next season, marking his 20th campaign with the club.

The 38-year-old, who holds the club record with 386 appearances, including 11 this season, made the revelation on the Rugby Union Weekly podcast.
“I love it too much”
“I will be at Harlequins next season, I ain’t leaving – I love it too much, I can’t give it up yet,” Care told the BBC. “Hopefully a few Quins fans will be happy with that.
“That game [the ‘Big Game’ 34-34 Premiership draw against Leicester in December] probably reminded me again just how lucky I am, fortunate, to still play this game we love and to still play for the club that I love.
“I’m not going to give it up while I enjoy it.”
20 years, 100 tries, and counting
Care first joined Harlequins in 2006 and has been pivotal in the club’s success, helping them clinch Premiership titles in 2012 and 2021, as well as the European Challenge Cup in 2011. Along the way, the electric number nine has scored over 100 tries for the London-based side.
England legend bows out
After earning 101 caps for England, Care retired from international duty in March 2024. He’s one of only six players to have reached a century of appearances for the national team.
