At the conclusion of the season, Ben Morgan, a former England forward who played for Gloucester, will retire from professional rugby.
Morgan, who is 34 years old, joined Gloucester in 2012 after departing from his original club, Scarlets, and has since competed in over 180 matches for the team.
Additionally, he has represented England 31 times, including two matches in the 2015 World Cup hosted in England.
“Playing for my home club over the last 11 years has been a huge privilege,” Morgan told the Gloucester website.
He added: “It’s a huge honour to be awarded a testimonial year,”
Gloucester chief executive Alex Brown said: “He has given a tremendous amount to this club, and we’re delighted that we can celebrate this with him,”
“He’s committed the majority of his playing career to Gloucester and leaves a lasting legacy in Cherry & White.”
