Head coach Gregor Townsend today revealed a 45-player Scotland Autumn squad to face Fiji, South Africa, Portugal, and Australia in November, with Tuipulotu leading the charge.
Sione Tuipulotu has been handed the captain’s armband for Scotland ahead of The Famous Grouse Nations Series.

Five Fresh Faces Looking to Shine
Among the squad, five uncapped players will be aiming to earn their first caps. Glasgow Warriors duo Alex Samuel and Tom Jordan join Edinburgh’s Ben Muncaster, Freddy Douglas, and Sione’s brother, Mosese Tuipulotu. This will be a huge opportunity for these rising stars to impress on the international stage.
A Welcome Return for Familiar Faces
Scotland will also see recalls for experienced players D’Arcy Rae and Rory Hutchinson. The centre options are stacked, with Hutchinson, Mosese Tuipulotu, Huw Jones, Stafford McDowall, and Matt Currie competing alongside the captain, Sione.
Finn Russell Takes Vice-Captain Role
Finn Russell has been named vice-captain and will lead the squad alongside Tuipulotu. Russell is one of three stand-offs in the squad, joined by Adam Hastings and Tom Jordan. With such depth in the playmaking role, Townsend has multiple strategies up his sleeve.
Scrum-Half Battle Brewing
Four scrum-halves are included in the squad, with Ben White, George Horne, Ali Price, and Jamie Dobie all fighting for the coveted number nine jersey. Dobie’s versatility will add even more competition for game time.
Darcy Graham’s Triumphant Return
After missing out due to injury, Darcy Graham is back in the squad, adding firepower on the wing. He joins Duhan van der Merwe, Kyle Rowe, and Arron Reed in providing Townsend with plenty of attacking options out wide.

Among the forwards, vice-captain Rory Darge will play a pivotal role. He’ll be part of a robust back row including Jamie Ritchie, Matt Fagerson, and Jack Dempsey. New faces Ben Muncaster and Freddy Douglas will be looking to make their mark, while Ewan Johnson returns to bolster the second row.
Front Row Depth Tested
The front row sees plenty of competition, with Ewan Ashman, Dylan Richardson, and Patrick Harrison at hooker. Props Pierre Schoeman, Zander Fagerson, Jamie Bhatti, and Rory Sutherland are among those battling it out in the engine room.

Scotland’s fixtures against Fiji, South Africa, and Australia have already sold out, with over 50,000 fans expected for the clash against Portugal. This will be a crucial month of rugby as Townsend prepares his team for the challenges ahead.
