Could Felix Jones be the next head coach of Munster? After resigning from his England defence coach role in September, Jones is still bound by a 12-month notice period with the Rugby Football Union (RFU).

However, The Irish Examiner reports that Jones’ RFU contract doesn’t block him from joining a club, which opens the door for a potential return to Munster.
Jones, a former player and coach at the province, has strong ties to Munster. He also played a crucial role in South Africa’s World Cup-winning coaching teams in 2019 and 2023.
With Munster parting ways with Graham Rowntree last month, the search for a permanent head coach is on, with Ian Costello stepping in as interim boss.
Leinster’s Jacques Nienaber, who worked alongside Jones during South Africa’s World Cup successes, recently revealed they met up to watch the Springboks win the Rugby Championship.
Jones’ move to Munster seems possible, as he’ll continue to work remotely for England providing tactical analysis. Nienaber shared, “We see each other often. I asked if he was OK and he’s fine. It’s his thing, but I offered to help if needed.”
