Cummings was show a red card for a croc-roll against South Africa’s Franco Mostert.
The 27-year-old was initially shown a yellow by Referee Christophe Ridley, after Eben Etzebeth asked the official to check if the clearance was legal.
Everyone in Murrayfield was unsure for the reason, so Scottish fans were furious when it was upgraded to a red for being a high degree of danger.
Cummings will be able to be replaced after 20 minutes, under the new red card law, but he himself will not be able to return to the field. ‘
