Leicester Tigers have bolstered their pack with the signing of Australian forward Jed Holloway on a short-term contract. The 32-year-old, who has 12 Test caps for the Wallabies, last appeared on the international stage in July 2023.
Holloway, a dynamic option at both lock and flanker, has been a stalwart for Super Rugby side New South Wales Waratahs, racking up over 100 appearances. While he’s set to join Major League Rugby’s San Diego Legion in 2025, he’s ready to make his mark at Welford Road in the interim.
“I’m very excited to be joining Leicester Tigers for the next couple of months,” Holloway shared.

Cheika’s Call: Filling the Gaps
Leicester’s external head coach Michael Cheika explained the urgency behind the signing:
“Coming out of the international window, we obviously have a few guys missing in that lock, back-row role and we have big games coming up in the league. Europe games as well,” said Cheika.
“Jed’s got the qualities in his game that we need, so adding him to the roster to help with the selection challenges we have is great.”
Tigers on the Hunt
Leicester Tigers have enjoyed a strong start to the Premiership season, winning five of their opening six matches. They sit just one point behind early leaders Bath.
The road ahead looks challenging, with an away clash against Sale this Saturday followed by back-to-back Champions Cup group stage games against Bordeaux Begles and Sharks in a gruelling six-day stretch.
Holloway’s arrival could be just the boost Tigers need to maintain their momentum both domestically and in Europe.
