“95 caps, 3 Six Nations titles, 2 Premiership crowns”
Marler’s rugby résumé is nothing short of legendary. Over 15 years, the 34-year-old has become one of the sport’s most vibrant and hard-nosed characters.

His England highlights include 95 caps and three Six Nations Championships, while at Quins, he added two Premiership titles and a European Challenge Cup to his name.

“The rollercoaster comes to a stop”
In a shock announcement on Wednesday, Marler revealed his decision to retire in an emotional statement with Harlequins. “It’s time to jump off the rollercoaster,” he declared, bringing down the curtain on a storied career.

A one-club legend
A true one-club man, Marler made 204 appearances for Harlequins, cementing his place as a cornerstone of the team. His final chapter unfolded fittingly at The Stoop on Friday, where fans celebrated the career of a player who’s given so much to the sport and his club.

Daisy Marler – the “rock” behind Joe’s success

Off the field, Marler’s partner Daisy has been his unwavering supporter, but she’s no pushover. Known for keeping Joe in check, Daisy has played a pivotal role in helping him juggle the demands of rugby and fatherhood.

Back in 2017, Joe revealed:
“My wife, Daisy, is very good at helping me balance the two [rugby and fatherhood]. Sometimes the team has double-days, and I need to get an early night. She’ll do the night shift with the kids.”

Who is Daisy Marler?

Daisy is Joe’s wife and, as Joe calls her, his “rock.” Together, they share family moments with fans through their Instagram page, @thingsthemarlersdo.

While Daisy often avoids the limelight, she appears frequently on their family account, giving followers glimpses of their everyday adventures.

A lasting partnership

The couple tied the knot on June 24, 2017, and have since built a strong bond rooted in love and teamwork.

The Marler family life

Joe and Daisy are proud parents to four children – Pixie, Maggie, Felix, and Jasper.

In August 2024, the family enjoyed a day out at Camp Bestival in Dorset. Joe shared adorable snaps of their children beaming with joy.

Fans were quick to comment on the heartwarming post:
“Looks amazing! So nice to see all their happy faces, I’m missing them already!”
Another added: “Making memories is so precious. Always have fun along the way.”

As Joe prepares for life after rugby, one thing’s for sure – the Marler household is never short of adventures!
